Milton Transit reports significant ridership growth in second quarter

Posted on Wednesday July 26, 2017

News Release -

Ridership on Milton Transit’s conventional system increased by 9% in the second quarter of this year, compared to same period last year. Milton access+ also showed significant increases during the quarter with 20% growth in passenger trips.

Growth in conventional ridership is attributed to service changes and enhancements introduced on April 3, which included new routes serving the Boyne Neighbourhood and 401 industrial areas; route modifications to improve schedule adherence; and continued service coordination with GO Transit train departure and arrival times.

On July 24, 2017, Council voted to extend the Route 62 Campbellville Pilot beyond its original duration of five months, with some service modifications; the pilot will now conclude on December 31, 2017.

“Transit service helps give residents and visitors the opportunity to travel freely throughout the community,” said Milton Mayor Gord Krantz.
